Maureen Bellmay Essentrics Instructor

Maureen is a fully certified level 4 Essentrics instructor who has been a healthy living enthusiast for much of her life. A fitness instructor in the past and a yoga student for over 35 years, she became intrigued by a program she watched on PBS several years ago, called Classical Stretch by Essentrics. When she researched wanting to join a local class, she found there were no instructors in her area. At the age of 55 she decided to become an instructor and has begun a new chapter in her life. She has been teaching Essentrics for over 6 years in the Northwest Corner of CT and has built a wonderful following of students.
Maureen recently completed Advanced Therapeutic Techniques Graduate Program at Omega Institute in Rhinebeck NY, which included 5 days of training with Miranda Esmonde-White (Creator of Essentrics, Host of Classical Stretch on PBS & New York Times Bestselling Author). “It was an honor to train with a small group of instructors and to meet and learn from Miranda. Essentrics is a unique exercise technique that honors the body’s natural design. Through the art of dance, we can find ways to experience the pleasure of movement using countless styles and different types of dance.
In this class we will have the opportunity to experience body work through figurative elements combined with self-inspiration. We will also explore new possibilities of self expression with exercises guided by intention using body as an instrument of expression. The Angevine Farm, and its distant views of the Litchfield County landscape will be used as a source of inspiration, as Christine guides the students through her unique creative process.

Christine was born and raised in Brazil. She graduated with a degree in dance, and she worked as a teacher, dancer, and coordinator during the 40+ years that she owned her business, located in Rio de Janeiro. Christine has said “although I was trained in classical ballet, my personal approach to teaching has always been focused on self-expression rather than pure technique.”

Katie Cavenagh is a certified hypnotist, sound healer, psychic oracle reader, and published author. She has an affinity for the occult and has been diving into science and spiritual psychology since 2012. She received her Reiki Master training in 2020 and has gone on to extensively study sound healing, combining techniques to bring her clients a unique experience.
Spiritual and personal development have been the forefront of her teachings, as Katie believes in teaching others how to heal themselves. “It’s important for people to know they have the power within themselves to make any improvements they want. This empowerment brings about a whole new perspective of life”, Katie says.

There’s a kind of magic that happens when you put pen to paper to pour out your thoughts, feelings, and ideas. It creates a tangible connection to something real that you can’t just back-space delete.
Life is filled with distractions and puppy videos, and it’s easy to postpone introspection. A series of prompts to help inspire will be shared throughout the session. As you allow your mind and pen to wander, you may be surprised at the memories, emotions, and revelations that emerge.
This will be a moment to slow down, breathe, and rediscover your inner self through the power of writing.
* We will provide the notebook, pen, and beautiful setting.

About Jamie:
Jamie has loved creating stories and music her whole life. She recently finished a 7-year long journey of writing fiction every day, armed with her favorite pens and a mountain of spiral bound notebooks. Her stories have placed in several competitions and she was published in PenWorks. Since 2018, she has enjoyed being a member and facilitator of the New Milford Writers Salon. She’s grateful for the support and friendships from this and other creative communities.
She truly believes in following your imagination down quirky and unexpected paths, because you never know what treasures might be found.
Carla Angevine MPH, MS, RD
Nutrition and Mindful Eating Practice Session
Learn how incorporating the Mediterranean diet and mindful eating practices into your life can help reduce stress and inflammation while improving an overall sense of wellbeing. Participants will create their own individual Mediterranean meal plans and will experience the power of mindfulness. Carla’s class is limited to 25 participants.
About Carla:
Carla is a Certified Dietitian Nutritionist, fitness instructor and health coach and serves as Hartford HealthCare’s Regional Director of Community Health-Northwest Region working locally at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.
She received her Masters of Science Degree in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology from Columbia University and went on to pursue a Masters in Public Health from the University of Phoenix. In addition, Carla has specialized nutrition certifications in adult, adolescent, and child weight management as well as sports nutrition.
She has worked in the fitness industry for over twenty years and as an avid runner has completed thirteen marathons. She also enjoys gardening, baking, cooking, traveling, and helping out on the family farm.
Carla’s lifestyle approach to health focuses on each of us achieving our own individual wellness goals. One specific nutrition or exercise prescription does not work for everyone, developing a sustainable personal tailored plan is key to healthy, joyful living.
